Transport for NSW is committed to providing ‘successful places’ with the ‘liveability, amenity and economic success of communities and places enhanced by transport’. (FutureTransport 2056). This document puts forward the design principle—as part of the urban design of road and maritime infrastructure— that projects should be designed with a Connection to Country based upon local Aboriginal engagement. This may mean the design of the landform, or the landscape, or a creative input in structures, art and design, or simply a respectful understanding of the Aboriginal cultural context as a foundation of our work.
